May I go camping? Oh yes!

I'm not much of a botanist, but as you can see, the trees have their leaves, and the flowers are starting to bloom. And for the first session this month, I wanted to get back to the cut and decided on going to Swakeston on the Trent & Mersey canal. With a Match 13 float rod and a recently acquired Kassnar PLS-300 reel. As I float-fished maggots, I remembered Swakestone can be a bit hit and miss sometimes and this time it was a miss with no bites on this short session.

I returned to Heatherton, this time with my trusty Carp setup and the latest copy of Fallon's Angler. It was good that I had something to read, as I didn't spend any time catching fish. I did, however, make some new friends, and I helped a fellow angler rescue his drifting bait boat with my landing net! But that's another story.

This month included a weekend camping at Springwood Fishery near Melbourne, Derbyshire. Good weather, a cooked breakfast, and an interesting, mixed bag of fish on the top and bottom lakes were landed with a lovely Bruse & Walker CTM 13A float rod and Mitchell 206 S reel.
